Box Truck Delivery Driver

Job Summary

Supporting the vision of GreenDrop/Savers involves driving a truck to assist stores and GreenDrop trailer locations. Drivers are in charge of daily deliveries and pickups from these locations, which includes tasks such as truck inspections, route planning, and moving large items weighing up to 70 pounds. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of route data, driver logs, and truck maintenance, with no requirement for a CDL. Ideally, candidates should have 2-3 years of experience driving a 18'-26' box truck and a clean driving record spanning 3-5 years, along with the ability to lift heavy items daily and operate a pallet jack.

Roles and Duties:

• Safely drive and control a 18'-26' box truck within the vicinity, which might involve navigating through compact areas
• Carry out daily transportation and collection of apparel, minor furnishings, and various home goods that could be loaded on or off carts
• Gain proficiency in navigating through neighborhood roads and effectively executing designated paths and additional drop-off points
• Learn the proper application and adherence to GPS guidance
• Ensure all necessary daily documentation is completed, such as vehicle checks, delivery logs, and maintenance records
• Help out fellow drivers with their tasks when required
• In charge of guaranteeing that trucks are tidy, swept, and prepared for operation at the commencement of each new shift
• Inspections are conducted on vehicles to verify that they adhere to both Savers' regulations and the laws of the State, ensuring their safety and operational standards are met
• Meeting the requirements for employment includes obtaining a DOT Medical Card, clearing a drug test before starting the job, and possessing a clean driving record from the past three years
• Assume additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the specified metropolitan regions
• Familiarity with safety regulations from DOT, OSHA, state, and Savers is essential for the job
• Displaying proficiency in interpersonal relationship abilities in a professional setting is essential

• Prove abilities by displaying proactiveness, taking ownership, and being accountable for tasks
• Previous experience operating a vehicle and a strong familiarity with the local roadways are requirements for this role

• Proven abilities in handling customer inquiries and resolving issues effectively
• Competence in handling a box truck ranging from 18 to 26 feet without supervision
• Proficiency in both verbal and written communication is essential
• Capable of handling multiple incoming and outgoing truck shipments simultaneously
• Capacity to generate driver's records and summaries as required
• Proficiency in understanding provided instructions, whether written, verbal, visual, or structured in a timetable
• Having the capacity to prioritize tasks, adhere to deadlines while being adaptable, and efficiently handle multiple tasks with little guidance is essential
• Having a strong attention to detail means being able to focus on the specifics
• It is necessary to possess an authentic driver's license

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

• Preference is given to candidates with 2-3 years of experience operating a box truck ranging from 18 to 26 feet in length
• A record of driving without any incidents for a period of 3 to 5 years

Physical Requirements:

• Capacity to lift weights of up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
• Capability to maneuver a pallet jack and a cart by either pulling or pushing them
• Frequent standing capability during the day
• Capable of entering and exiting a truck regularly as required by the job role
