Box Truck Driver – Local Routes

Job Summary

The key responsibility of truck drivers in supporting the GreenDrop/Savers vision is to drive and operate the truck for store and GreenDrop trailer locations assistance. Their duties include completing daily deliveries and pickups, performing truck inspections, planning routes, and moving bulky items weighing as much as 70 pounds. Additionally, the role entails maintaining accurate records of route data, driver logs, and truck maintenance, without the necessity of holding a CDL. It is preferable for candidates to have 2-3 years of experience driving a 18'-26' box truck and possess a clean driving record of 3-5 years. They should also be able to consistently lift heavy objects daily and handle a pallet jack.

Roles and Duties:

• Skillfully operate and navigate an 18'-26' box truck in the local region, potentially encountering confined spaces
• Perform regular deliveries and retrievals of clothes, petite furniture, and other domestic possessions, whether they are accompanied by carts or not
• Master the art of maneuvering through nearby streets and efficiently fulfilling assigned routes as well as any specified locations for halts
• Grasp the method of utilizing and heeding GPS instructions
• Make sure to fill out all mandatory paperwork each day, including vehicle inspections, delivery reports, and maintenance forms
• Provide support to other drivers with their workload as necessary
• Tasked with ensuring that trucks are cleaned, swept, and prepared for utilization at the beginning of a new work period
• Vehicles are checked to make sure that they meet the safety requirements outlined by Savers and are compliant with the relevant State legislation, prioritizing the maintenance of proper work conditions
• To be considered for the job, candidates must comply with the prerequisites of holding a DOT Medical Card, passing a pre-employment drug screening, and maintaining a violation-free Motor Vehicle Report for the previous three-year period
• Carry out any other tasks as delegated

Qualifications:

• Understanding of the designated urban areas
• Understanding and knowledge of safety protocols mandated by DOT, OSHA, state, and Savers are necessary
• Exhibit adeptness in managing relationships effectively within a professional environment
• Displayed a high level of proficiency in delivering quality customer service
• Exhibit initiative, personal responsibility, and accountability through demonstrated competencies
• Proficiency in driving and a thorough understanding of the designated area's streets are essential qualifications
• Competent in managing interactive communication and operating global positioning systems effectively
• Demonstrated organization skills
• Displayed adeptness in providing excellent service and support to clientele
• Proficiency in driving a box truck independently within the size range of 18 to 26 feet
• Being able to express thoughts effectively through speech or writing is a valuable skill
• Skill in managing various truck loads coming in and going out at the same time
• Capability to produce logs and documentation for drivers when necessary
• Capability to decipher and comprehend directions presented in written, spoken, graphic, or chronological formats
• Being able to determine what tasks are most important, meet time constraints while being flexible, and manage several tasks at once without constant supervision is crucial
• Being detail-oriented involves closely examining all the small elements
• A valid driver's license is a must-have requirement

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

• Applicants with 2-3 years of prior driving experience in handling box trucks between 18 and 26 feet long are preferred for this position
• An unblemished driving history spanning three to five years

Physical Requirements:

• Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 70 pounds consistently every day
• Capacity to operate a pallet jack and cart through pushing or pulling actions
• Ability to be on one's feet often throughout the day
• Having the capacity to climb into and out of a truck frequently based on job requirements
